SLSC 2024 – Chapter 8

And just like that… we’re publishing our last newsletter of the summer πŸ™ It’s been an amazing summer, and while the instructor team is sad to see it go, we are so proud of the way the program ran this year! We have a very exciting last week planned – so keep reading for everything you need to know.

TUESDAY MOVIE NIGHT

It’s our LAST MOVIE NIGHT TONIGHT!!!! Come down to the clubhouse for the last screening – it’s gonna be a good one. The movie costs $2 and starts at 6:30pm. See you all there πŸ™‚

WEDNESDAY FUN DAY

This week for Fun Day, we are heading to Verulam! We will leave club first thing in the morning and head to Verulam Park. Once there, we’ll play games, swim, and of course eat pizza! Please come to the club at 2pm for pickup, as it takes us a little bit longer to get back. We’re so excited! It’s going to be an awesome day.

Also on Wednesday will be our annual bonfire! Join us from 6-9pm for spooky stories, s’mores, and the annual talent show of course. Admission is $5, but that will get you 2 hot dogs and 2 s’mores. Be sure to come, the instructors have something very special planned. See you there!

FRIDAY PRIZEGIVING

On Friday evening, we will be hosting our annual Prizegiving ceremony. Join as the Sturgeon Point Union Church at 7pm on Friday night as we celebrate all of our sailor’s accomplishments this year. We will also be showing our end of year slideshow πŸ™ It’s been an amazing summer, and we have lots to celebrate.

Directly following Prizegiving will be THE LAST DANCE!!!! It’s the Sweetheart dance, so please dress for the occasion! The dance will be from 8(ish) until 10pm to account for Prizegiving. It’s the best day of the year, and we hope to see you all there πŸ™‚

SATURDAY CLEAN-UP DAY

Friday may be the last day of club, but the work doesn’t stop there. Please come down to the club on Saturday morning around 9am to help us put the club away. We take two weeks to set everything up, and we only have 1 day to put it all away! We can use all the help we can get, and the instructors really appreciate the help.

Thank you for keeping up with our newsletters this summer, and we hope everyone had as much fun as we did!

Thanks for reading πŸ™‚
