The newsletter is BACK after an amazing first week of club!!! Although it was not the windiest week Sturgeon Lake has ever seen, it might have been the hottest! We embraced the heat with lots of swimming, cold treats, and more swimming of course. Hopefully we will see a bit more wind as we head into week 2.

Our first Fun Day was a huge success, and it is always so amazing to see our sailors of all ages sailing and having a blast together. We have another awesome Fun Day planned for this Wednesday, so stay tuned for all the details regarding that! As always on Fun Day, club will end at 1pm rather than 12:30 as it’s pizza lunch! Reminder: pizza is included in registration.

Join us again for movie night on Tuesday! Fingers crossed that our trusty Backshedders can figure out how to work the projector this time… The movie starts at 6:30pm and will end around 8:30pm. The movie costs $2 and as always bring extra change for treats. There is also another dance on Friday night! We apologize for any confusion regarding last weeks theme, we have communicated much better with our Silvers to confirm this weeks theme… Bring out your best vacation looks as the theme this Friday will be tropical!!! We want to see your tackiest tourist outfits, and most lush lei’s. The dance runs from 7pm to 9pm, and we can’t wait to see you all there! Entrance to the dance is also $2 and like the movie, bring extra change!

Another exciting thing happening at the club this weekend is the Mid Ontario Regatta!! We are super excited to be hosting this regatta again after a few long years of cancellations. Sailors from across Ontario will be joining us for 2 days of racing. Come out to support our SLSC Race Teams at their first regatta of the summer!

Also, as a reminder, sailing club starts at 8:30am! Please try your best not to come to the club too early before then. We understand that everyone is excited to get to club, so are we, but we do ask that everyone is mindful of the correct starting time 🙂
