Volume 5
Hard to believe that it’s already the 5th week of summer 2023! Instructors and sailors alike have been having an absolute blast so far. We’re all looking forward to making the most of our last few weeks.
It’s movie night tonight! Join us at the club at 6:30pm for a private screening of the Lego Movie (as voted on by our sailors). Our backshedders have taken a “Movie Night 101” course and now have a fully functioning projector as well as a widened movie selection (We are hereby banning the Lorax at sailing club). Nonetheless, the backshedders are trying their best to make movie nights fun for everyone! So come on down to the club tonight. Bring some change and a cup for juice!!
Wednesday FUNDAY!!!! Tomorrow’s Funday is Treasure Hunt! It’s a super fun-filled day that involves sailors searching around club, and sailing around Sturgeon on the hunt for clues to decode the instructors secret message. The first team to correctly guess the message will win a prize! As always, Wednesday is Pizza Lunch! Club will end at 1:00pm as opposed to 12:30. Pizza is included in registration 🙂
Friday night dance!! This Friday’s dance theme is a new spin on an old classic… come to the club on Friday night dressed for a hoedown throwdown OR like you’re ready to tee off for a round. The theme of the dance is Country vs. Country Club! Will you be riding a horse? Or a golf cart? Will the country club kids dominate SLSC? Or will the country kids show up for the rodeo? Come to the dance on Friday to find out! Starts at 7pm ends at 9pm. $2 entry and bring extra change for candy! Will you be swinging a lasso or a tennis racket!?
Instructor dinners!!! There a still a few nights available to host the instructors for dinner. We would love to come and hang out with some of the families the continue to show their unwavering support for the instructors as well as the club. Follow the link below to select your date and time. CIVIC!!! Everyone’s favourite weekend of the year is quickly approaching. Join us on Saturday for the club’s annual CIVIC Weekend Regatta! Registration starts at 9am with first gun (hopefully) at 11am! Anybody is welcome to race and we strongly encourage all of our junior club members to come out and race. It’s a great opportunity for some of our younger sailors to get a taste for racing. Racing will take place on Saturday, and a Prize Giving ceremony will take place at the sailing club at 7pm on Sunday. Come for the prizes, stay for treats!!!!
As per usual, we would like to remind everyone who drives to club to drive with EXTREME caution as many of our clubbers bike. If you’re biking wear a helmet!!!! If there are any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to send us an email or stop by and pay us a visit. Unfortunately, the phones at the club have not been working (classic) so don’t call us!
