Andrew “Bart” Simpson, a British double Olympic medalist, died on May 9, 2013 when the Artemis Racing AC72 catamaran capsized on San Francisco Bay while training for the 34th America’s Cup challenge. Simpson was one of the 11-man crew aboard. In addition to his sailing talent, he is described by those that knew him in the sailing community have been one of the really good guys in the sport.
