Today saw light and shifting winds for the start of Mid-Ontario Championship Regatta. The Club 420 fleet of 28 boats took to the water in hopes that the wind would fill in for the 2 pm start of the 2011 Canadian National Club 420 Association Championship. After a short postponement the racing got underway.
The conditions were tricky with different parts of a windward leeward course seeing fleeting wind patches. Sailors were challenged to find the wind and keep spins flying.
In the end, only 1 race could be held before the RC called it quits for the day. Sailors returned to the club before heading over to a nearby cottage for dinner.
Hopefully tomorrow the wind will show up, along with the Laser and Radial boats.
