Murray McCullough , Ryan Callahan, Owen Thomas and Sean Clynch drove down to Steeltown last weekend to sail the Hammer and do the boys weekend thing. Ryan, sailing a Byte, scored straight bullets (yes, in every race) and Owen and Sean acquitted themselves well as well with all top half of the fleet finishes, ending up in 7th in a big 28 boat fleet…but the boys did more than enjoy some intense competition on the waters of Hamilton Harbour. In search of more G forces, they hit the speedways of the Centennial Go Cart High Speed Test Track where they ripped the course, leaving go cart debris in their wake. Murray reports taking out Owen for the checkered flag. The victory trip home included two foot long subs and Bake Sale bakery goods, arriving back for congratulations for their performance and a week of dieting to restore their trim figures. A highly successful first regatta for a subset of the Senior race team and good preparation for next weekend’s Four Sister’s regatta at Port Credit.
