Today is a rest day for the Laser Masters in Nova Scotia after 3 long days of sailing in mainly shifty winds. The unusual for St. Margaret’s Bay winds made for very long days on the water; almost eight hours for most of the sailors. Most fleets, including the Radial Grand Master Fleet have had five races and our Richard Roberts is staying close with consistent sailing. He stands 13th at present in the 27 boat international fleet, but he is very close to the top 10. Richard’s worst race to date is a 13th and, as such, he is one of the most consistent sailors in the fleet. Go Richard!
Other notables: Rob Koci stands 4th in the Grand Masters Radial Fleet after 4 firsts and an unusual OCS and 17th. He will move up when he gets a second drop. Canadian Andy Roy stands second in the 82 boat Masters Laser Full Rig Fleet and Gerry Giffen stands 58th in that same fleet.
The Regatta ends Saturday and we’ll provide updates.
